Art Opening – George Settos, “The Edge and Back”
Join us Friday, June 16th from 7 to 11pm as AtlantaÆs Westside Cultural Arts Center (WCAC), returns with our popular and thought-provoking Art Opening Series, for the opening of its latest show, George Settos’s – “To The Edge and Back.”
Throughout George SettosÆ collection of work, thereÆs a common thread of nostalgia for days gone by, and the iconic musicians, performers and faces that defined them. Working primarily with acrylics on canvas and what he likes to call his own proprietary formula, Settos, best known for his pop art, high contrast portraits and raised textured edge created by using the back of his paintbrush, explores what is often considered ôBlack and White,ö and how things change when you add another dimension. His 3-D technique can quite literally make his art jump off of the canvas.
